The Google Updater
The Updater is one of the coolest things about the Google Pack actually. It's not discussed much on Google Earth's website, but it really makes life easy for Google Pack users. It's the tool that you use to install Google Earth and any of the other software which comes free with the Google Pack. You can use it to check or uncheck which pieces of free software you want and/or don't want. It's also the tool which updates the software you've installed on your machine. An icon goes into your system tray when you install the Google Pack and it stays there. You will receive alerts when updates to your Google Pack software are available. You can then just click on it to install updates, or to install items from the Google Pack that you didn't install initially, if you decide you want them later. The Updater shows you the status of each of the downloads as they're being installed. Then you can click "run" to run the programs at your convenience, while still doing other things on your computer or the web. ou will receive an icon in your system tray alerting you when new updates are available. With Google's Updater you can also uninstall any of the programs you decide you don't want.
Here is what the Google Updater looks like, when it's open. As you can see, it's really easy to understand and use. It's just a really helpful tool.
